In a wink of an eye the year vanished. My Grandpa once said that as he got older life spun faster, just like the toilet paper at the end of the roll. In my youth I giggled at his description. As I age I get the point. In these final December days we leave you with the our best of 2016.
Our heartfelt thanks for hanging on to your hats and adventuring with us through the year. Below are the five most viewed blog posts published in 2016.
At the bottom of this post, the winners of our Holiday Puzzle are listed. Such good sports to all who played along whether choosing to leave the answer or not.
The Best of 2016
It would only seem right that the clear winner of the year came from our own backyard. Cycling the iconic Icefields Parkway through Alberta’s Rocky Mountains.
Decades ago we took our small children to Las Vegas. The trip was inexpensive and fun. Putting together a modern day version of family friendly activities in the city took a lot of research but has proved to be the second most popular post of the year.
Sometimes the best surprises really are just outside the door. These little towns of Black Diamond, Turner Valley and Longview outside of Calgary proved to be cool little spots indeed. Dave’s video compilation in this post, was one biggest hits on social media in 2016.
Likely there are 114 reasons this is a road trip to experience in this lifetime. We loved Australia, every bit of it. Driving the Great Ocean Road for three days our mouths hung open in awe. One of our best of 2016 that is certain.
This look back at cycling the peaceful Picos de Europa in northern Spain took the number five spot in popularity this year. Perhaps those looking for a quiet respite or eye popping vistas were keen to know more.
Our heartfelt thanks to each of you for visiting over the past year. Your ongoing support and encouragement means so very much to us.
Now drum roll please for the winners of the Holiday Puzzle.
The secret message is one that is near and dear to our hearts. PLEASE DONATE TO YOUR FOOD BANK.
