I am fond of neck ties and socks. Really I am. However as special occasions draw near I begin to drop subtle hints. “Oh my look at how full this sock drawer is!” Or “This tie holder is super strong hanging on to these 55 ties!” I appreciate that the search for the best gifts for Dad can be a challenging one. Today I am dropping some not so subtle Father Day gift ideas on behalf of all Dads out there. Here are some of my best Dad gifts, even if I did have to purchase them myself.
Happy Travels – Best Gifts for Dad
GoPro Hero 4 Silver
The GoPro is without doubt my top suggestion on the list of best gifts for Dad. While Sue is dreaming up the next wild adventure I am working on how to film it. Whether the guy you are buying for loves to travel or not a GoPro is fun pure and simple. Everything from time lapse video in the shopping mall to riding down a zipline, this is a present any Dad will go wild for. In my opinion, unless this gift idea is for professional use, there is no need to spend the extra $100 for the GoPro Hero 4 Black
Go Pro Acessories
I won’t begin to tell you how much I have spent on accessories for our GoPro. Each outing I realize another gadget would be useful. Purchasing them individually has definitely counted up. (Don’t tell Sue) Buying a package such as this one is a far more affordable option. I wish I had realized that about 6 accessories ago.
Rick Steves Europe DVD
Rick Steves has been our guide on European adventures since the beginning of our travels. Easier than reading a guidebook, I like watching his videos. It’s really not Sue who comes up with ALL the ideas for our adventures.
Marmot Waterproof Jacket
I have owned a lot of rain jackets in my decades. Finally one that is lightweight and I don’t feel as though I am in a sauna while wearing it. Significantly less than some of the higher end jackets, it rolls easily in carry on luggage or a day pack. Of the Father Day ideas here this would be the most practical.
iPad Mini 4
The iPad mini purchase came after yet one more airline changed their entertainment systems to utilizing an app on a tablet. This size is far better than Sue’s full size iPad which she is always struggling with to fit in her travel purse. Although most travelers won’t need 128GB of storage we will use that extra space to download photos from our camera while on the road.
The Ultimate in Best Gifts for Dad
Now I could use your help in convincing Sue that I should have one of the best Dad gifts ever. She has visions of us being arrested in a foreign country. I have visions of the coolest video ever. Don’t you think a drone would make the top of the list of travel gifts for men?
