Grab your bike helmet and hiking poles dear friends. We are headed to Peru and the Galapagos Islands.
All cheerleaders, curious onlookers and those mumbling, “Have they lost their minds?” are invited to come along or drop in for a visit along the South American journey. Dave may have his hands full encouraging, I mean pushing me up the peaks of the Andes and I am certain would appreciate your help.
Dave has put together these fabulous maps, which you can click on to enlarge, so you can follow along. Also you will know where to send the search party should we never be heard from again. Just teasing Mom.
Our plan is to post live during the trip. Experienced bloggers out there are likely shaking their heads in despair at the utter nonsense of such a thing. Finding Wifi in itself while traveling resembles an Olympic sport. Let alone cycling and hiking at high altitude and then putting something sensible to print. If I am telling you we saw lions and giraffes at Machu Picchu take it with a grain of salt.
The origin of our blog began in sharing the moments of adventure with those who may or may not want to suffer, I mean experience, a similar journey in real time. We hope to continue that however we have been told that Wifi and even cell phone coverage may be non existent at times both in Peru and on the islands of the Galapagos.
Prepare to cringe at spelling errors, punctuation acting as though possessed by the arch enemy of all English teachers and photos delivered unedited. I’ll do my best not to sweat through your computer screens but that’s not a firm promise.
Dave has been to South America several times with work but this will be my first trip. To say that I am over the moon with excitement of exploring a different continent would be an understatement. I am reprimanded by the long suffering husband for dancing on the table at least once a day.
For those of you who see me at your own blogs, my visits will cease for the next three weeks. Know I will be keen to catch up with your news on my return to Canada.
Your best bet to see regular photos will be on our social media. Often easier to upload one single image than an entire blog post the goddess of internet connection Ms Wifi may grant us that.
